We meet the third Monday of each month at 7pm at San Giovanni's restaurant in Dove Canyon http://www.canyondemocrats.org/news.php?item.41.2 Arizona’s Immigration Law SB1070 has been recently modified.   The Canyon Democrats hosted Chapman University’s Associate Professor of Law, Marisa Cianciarulo, who spoke about the current revisions and legalities.

In light of several of our own communities coming out with their support and official endorsement of the original Arizona bill, this was a most-informative discussion and lots of the "myths" that have been circulating in the media were put to rest by an expert in the field.

June's meeting provided our members with a chance to speak out on current events, hot topics, and the goals they'd like to see for the Canyon Democrats. Instead of of usual format of having a guest speaker, the guest speaker this month included everyone who attended.  It was a great lesson in how democracy is supposed to work! We will be returning to our regular programming next month.
